I am strictly an amateur genealogist and made a lot of mistakes starting out – like not documenting sources and assuming that what I found in other’s research was true. Please don’t do the same. I may have mistakes here. Verify what you read here. And kindly let me know if you find mistakes that I have made.

Generation 1

1. Thomas Hoskins[1, 2, 3] was born on 10 Dec 1896 in Mystic, Iowa[4]. He was the son of 2. Thomas Franklin Hoskins and 3. Sarah Elizabeth Bryan. He died on 19 Nov 1982 in Ottumwa, Iowa. He married Eveline Coates on 24 Mar 1923 in Mystic, Iowa[5], daughter of Joseph Coates and Mary Ann Harris. She was born on 15 Feb 1901 in Mystic, Iowa[6]. She died on 22 May 1989 in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Generation 2

2. Thomas Franklin Hoskins was born on 14 May 1859 in Princeton, Mercer Co., MO (Princeton, Missouri or Lee, Iowa)[7]. He was the son of 4. William Hoskins and 5. Nancy Cooley. He died on 25 Aug 1942 in Mystic, Appanoose, Iowa[7]. He married Sarah Elizabeth Bryan on 13 Apr 1884 in Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa[8].

3. Sarah Elizabeth Bryan was born 27 Feb 1864 in Drakesville, Davis, Iowa[2, 9], died 07 Jan 1939 in Mystic, Appanoose, Iowa[9], married 13 Apr 1884 in Bloomfield Courthouse, Davis County, Iowa[8]. She was the daughter of 6. George Washington Bryan and 7. Sarah “Sally” Stokes.

Children of Thomas Franklin Hoskins and Sarah Elizabeth Bryan are:

i. Rance Carl Hoskins was born 27 Jan 1885 in Mystic, Appanoose, Iowa, died 1952.

ii. Warren Hoskins was born 21 Nov 1893 in Mystic, Appanoose, Iowa, died 27 Mar 1978 in Love’s Park, Ill., married Anna Josephine Carter 21 Dec 1912 in Mystic, Appanoose County, Iowa.

+ 1. iii. Thomas Hoskins was born 10 Dec 1896 in Mystic, Iowa[4], died 19 Nov 1982 in Ottumwa, Iowa, married Eveline Coates 24 Mar 1923 in Mystic, Iowa[5].

iv. Edna Hoskins was born 27 Aug 1899 in Mystic, Appanoose, Iowa, died 25 Nov 2000.

v. Ethel Hoskins was born 20 Dec 1901 in Mystic, Appanoose, Iowa, died 1975; married Mark Henry Bland 03 Aug 1925.

Generation 3

4. William Hoskins[10, 11, 12] was born about 1823 in Ohio[2, 3]. He was the son of 8. John Hoskins and 9. Nancy. He died between 1880-1885. He married Nancy Cooley. 5. Nancy Cooley was born Mar 1824 in Indiana or Ohio[2, 3], died 1906 in Mystic, Appanoose, Iowa.

Children of William Hoskins and Nancy Cooley are:

i. Francis Hoskins was born Abt. 1848 in Iowa.

ii. John Hoskins was born Abt. 1849 in Iowa.

iii. Caroline Hoskins was born Abt. 1851 in Iowa.

iv. Joanna (Ann) Hoskins was born 1852, died 19 Apr 1935, married Lewis Storms 26 Feb 1874 in Lee County, Iowa.

v. Mary Alice Hoskins was born 18 Mar 1857 in Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa, died 1922, married Alfred Edward Cameron 07 Nov 1876 in Mississippi County, Missouri[13]; married William Huffman Milburn Aft. 1882 in Drakesville, Davis County, Iowa.

+ 2. vi. Thomas Franklin Hoskins was born 14 May 1859 in Princeton, Mercer Co., MO; Princeton, Missouri or Lee, Iowa[7], died 25 Aug 1942 in Mystic, Appanoose, Iowa[7], married Sarah Elizabeth Bryan 13 Apr 1884 in Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa[8].

vii. William Hoskins was born Abt. 1862 in Missouri, married Nelly Cadwalader 11 May 1892 in Appanoose, Iowa.

viii. Daniel Hoskins was born May 1867 in Iowa, married Myrtle Akens or Eakins 11 Mar 1900 in Appanoose, Iowa; married Iva M Abt. 1900.

ix. Rosa L. Hoskins was born 02 Jan 1869 in Iowa[14, 15], died 01 Apr 1955, married James Washington Bryan 17 Apr 1884.

6. George Washington Bryan was born on 01 Apr 1819 in Todd Co., KY (Christian (now Todd) County, Kentucky)[9]. He was the son of 12. John Franklin Bryan and 13. Hester Jane Westfall. He died on 03 Jan 1864 in near Drakesville, Davis County, Iowa. He married Sarah “Sally” Stokes on 09 Jun 1842 in Todd County, Kentucky.

7. Sarah “Sally” Stokes was born 26 Aug 1821 in Todd County,Kentucky[9, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23], died 27 Oct 1914 in Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa, married 09 Jun 1842 in Todd County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of 14. Larkin Stokes and 15. Mary “Polly” Keeling.

Children of George Washington Bryan and Sarah “Sally” Stokes are:

i. Mary Hester Bryan was born 03 Dec 1843 in Kentucky, married James C. Moddrell 24 Jul 1861.

ii. Nancy Jane Bryan was born 20 Jun 1845, died 18 Dec 1916 in South Bend, Washington, married John Milton Cooper 15 Apr 1869 in Davis County, Iowa.

iii. John Franklin Bryan was born 10 Sep 1846, died 10 Dec 1936 in Davis County, Iowa[24].

iv. George Larkin Bryan was born 06 Apr 1848, died 02 Aug 1878 in near Lancaster, Schultz County, Mo., married Hanna Slover 31 Jul 1870 in Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa.

v. Thomas Jefferson Bryan was born 23 Oct 1849, died 26 Sep 1937.

vi. Jones Marion Bryan was born 10 Aug 1851 in Todd County, Kentucky, died 04 Jan 1944 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, married Lucinda Cameron 05 Jan 1873 in Drakesville, Iowa.

vii. William Wesley Bryan was born 03 Jun 1854 in Ray County, Missouri, died 04 Dec 1856.

viii. James Washington Bryan was born 28 Jun 1856 in Lawson, Ray County, Missouri[14], died 26 Aug 1942 in Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa, married Rosa L. Hoskins 17 Apr 1884.

ix. Eliza Ann Bryan was born 27 Oct 1858 in Lawson, Ray, Missouri, died 27 Oct 1858.

x. Samuel David Bryan was born 22 Nov 1861 in Lawson, Ray, Missouri, died 06 Apr 1946 in Davis County, Iowa, married Miranda Cunningham Mar 1880; married Rittie A Abt. 1892.

+ 3. xi. Sarah Elizabeth Bryan was born 27 Feb 1864 in Drakesville, Davis, Iowa[2, 9], died 07 Jan 1939 in Mystic, Appanoose, Iowa[9], married Thomas Franklin Hoskins 13 Apr 1884 in Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa[8].

8. John Hoskins was born in Virginia. He married Nancy. 9. Nancy was born in Maryland[10].

12. John Franklin Bryan was born on 15 Jan 1794 in near Sperryville, Culpepper County, Virginia[25, 26, 27, 28]. He was the son of 24. James Bryan and 25. Lottie Kennard. He died on 28 Apr 1855 in Greenup, Illinois. He married Hester Jane Westfall on 28 Apr 1815 in Rockingham County, Virginia.

13. Hester Jane Westfall was born 04 Jun 1797 in Clarksburg, Harrison County, VA (now West Virginia)[25, 26, 27, 28, 29], died Aft. 1871 in Maybe in Illinois, married 28 Apr 1815 in Rockingham County, Virginia. She was the daughter of 26. George Westfall or Westall and 27. Mary Ambrose.

iv. Aremelia Bryan was born Sep 1833 in Kentucky[28], died 13 Oct 1912 in Cumberland Co, Ill., married John Boots 1854[28].

v. Pricilla Bryan was born Abt. 1821 in Kentucky, died 06 Aug 1893 in Cumberland Co, Ill., married William Frank Fox 29 Dec 1840 in Todd County, Kentucky

vi. William N. Bryan was born 1823 in Kentucky, married Spisa E. (Martin) 23 Jul 1845.

vii. James Christian Bryan was born 1825, died Aft. 1912 in Elkton, KY, married Mary E. Denny 25 Apr 1844; married Elzady Rich 27 Mar 1868 in Todd County, Kentucky.

viii. John Wesley Bryan was born 01 Jan 1827 in Todd County, Kentucky, died 01 Apr 1909 in Pratt, Kansas, married Nancy Jane Stokes 03 Jan 1849 in Todd County, Kentucky; married Elizabeth Roberts 1870[25].

ix. Francis Marion Bryan was born 15 May 1831 in Kentucky, died 30 Aug 1917 in Neodesha, Kansas; married Martha Ann Kennedy 28 Nov 1858.

x. Catherine Bryan was born 1834.

xi. Sarah Victoria Bryan was born 03 Oct 1837 in Todd County, Kentucky[30], died 17 Jan 1916 in Cumberland Co, Ill., married Robert A. Denny 20 Mar 1857 in Todd Co., KY.

14. Larkin Stokes was born about 1801 in South Carolina, USA. He was the son of 28. Jones Stokes and 29. Sarah. He died before 1870. He married Mary “Polly” Keeling on 29 Sep 1820 in Todd, Kentucky, USA.

15. Mary “Polly” Keeling was born Abt. 1797 in Virginia[31], married 29 Sep 1820 in Todd, Kentucky, USA.

iii. Nancy Jane Stokes was born 09 Jul 1830 in Todd Co. KY, died 11 May 1866 in Elmira, Mo.[33], married John Wesley Bryan 03 Jan 1849 in Todd County, Kentucky.

iv. Thomas Stokes was born 02 Oct 1832 in Todd Co. KY.

v. Dread Stokes was born 16 Jan 1834 in Todd Co. KY, died Bef. 1850.

vi. Anna Stokes was born 16 Jan 1834 in Todd Co. KY, died 02 Nov 1851.

vii. James Stokes was born 08 Dec 1838 in Todd Co. KY, died Bef. 1850.

viii. William Stokes was born 06 Mar 1840 in Todd Co. KY, died 23 Oct 1926 in Mortons Gap, Hopkins, Kentucky, USA.
